Player Evaluations and what they are about:

Dear Parents,

You will find enclosed your child’s player evaluation. The evaluation is for both coaches and players to use as a tool for the players progression. Most comments are positive in nature. The objective is for the player to understand the strong and weak points in the development of their game. We will use this in the future, to see how they are progressing. Players should use this to practice and train on their own. You will either find some player training sheets enclosed or we may have them posted on our web site.

The training sheets are designed for the player to use to practice on their own, both in season and during the off-season. Comments from the coach should help the player understand where they should put most of their effort in their training routine. We are only asking for a short period of training time each week. Please don’t hesitate to e-mail or call if you are not sure of what training they should do. I especially want them to continue working on ball feeling (getting used to quick touches on the ball), sensitizing (getting used to receiving the ball under close control) and juggling (getting used to a good touch on the ball). We also will be adding a player-training manual to our web site for players to download.

We would also like you to evaluate us. This club was formed strictly for the purpose of training players in their development. We feel that we need feedback from the parents on how we are also developing as a club. We welcome all positive and negative feedback along with comments and suggestions. We are dedicated to give our players our best effort. Your comments and suggestions can help us in that endeavor.
I especially welcome comments in the following areas:

  • Is your child having fun?
  • Are they learning and progressing to the best of their ability.

We want soccer and our program to be a positive experience for everyone involved.

Sincerely,

Kent Jester
